You must be a member of CTT affiliated club before you ride an open, semi open or association event approved by District Council. The only exception to this rule is the GHS event where riders may compete for their school/college. Individuals may ride events run under ‘Come and Try it’ conditions however individuals may only ride three times as a 'Come and Try It' rider, after which they should be encouraged to join a CTT affiliated club. When entering open events you must either enter on-line at www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/find-events or use the current CTT form which can be downloaded from the CTT national website www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/documents/index/riders.
Whilst competing riders must ensure they adhere to the Highway Regulations and CTT Rules and Regulations, disciplinary action may result from any breaches in these regulations. Riders must also ensure their helpers conform to the Regulations relating to the use of vehicles. www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk
In the interest of safety, CTT advise you to wear recognised standard protective headgear that meets an international accepted safety standard. CTT Regulations state that all Junior and Juvenile riders MUST wear such headgear.
All riders in open events must sign on the ‘Type A signing on/signing off form’ before receiving a body number. For club events ‘Type B signing on forms’ are used where riders must record their name, address, telephone number and their club before receiving a body number. Junior and Juvenile riders must have signed parental consent forms for each open, semi open or Association event. Parental consent forms are also required for club events and please note this is a different form to that used for open events.
Body numbers are compulsory for all events and should be positioned in accordance with CTT Regulation 16.
CTT Event Safety Concern Forms are available at all events to all riders/helpers who wish to make any comments relating to course safety. All completed Event Concern Safety forms should be sent to the District Secretary within 7 days of the event.
Any information on road works affecting our courses is always appreciated, please inform any of the District Committee listed on page 1.
If you wish to promote in 2020, or amend CTT rules, consult the DC Secretary during August 2019 and attend the District Council AGM in October.
Advice pamphlets on timekeeping, handicapping and course measuring are available, details are available on CTT National website. www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/documents/index/guidance
If you have any problems or queries relating to DC promotions, contact any of the officials listed on page 1 of District Handbook. Ideas to improve the handbook are always appreciated.
If a competitor or official is involved in an accident/incident during or in the vicinity of an event, details must be reported to the Event Secretary and the District Secretary as soon as practicable in line with CTT Regulations. Failure to do so could result in a similar accident happening to another rider. Details should include cause of accident/ incident, personal injury, involvement of third party and police details if involved. A Completed Accident Report form should be sent to the District Secretary for local registering, the National Secretary will be informed via District. www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/documents/index/organisers
The District Committee ask that riders/helpers are discouraged from posting details on social media of an accident, please leave this issue to the authorities and/or promoter. Distress can be caused to family members to learn of an incident via social media rather than through the official channels.
If you have any problems or queries relating to DC promotions, contact any of the officials listed on page 1 of District Handbook. Ideas to improve the handbook are always welcome.
IF YOU ARE IN ANY DOUBT, OR SIMPLY WISH TO HAVE SOME ASSURANCE CONTACT
